Your Details, Explained

Reading about personalisation should not require creating a guest profile. This notice concerns this journal, not the hotels discussed in it.

Who is responsible

Quivabubblecacts Hospitality Media Ltd is responsible for personal information it handles for this website and editorial correspondence. Our registered office is 22 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2PQ, United Kingdom; company number SC783614. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.

Browsing the journal

The website does not require an account or collect hotel bookings. Serving a page necessarily involves technical information such as an IP address and browser request. Hosting infrastructure may record request times, requested pages, browser information and error or security events for delivery, maintenance and abuse prevention. These records are not guest preference profiles.

The published journal code includes no advertising network, third-party analytics library, embedded social feed or AI chat service. Images, scripts and styles are requested from the website itself. External reference links take you to other organisations whose privacy notices apply to their own services.

The local message tool

Text entered into the Contact tool is processed within your browser to prepare a plain-text preview. The tool does not send that text to us, store it in cookies or localStorage, or submit a form to a server. Browser features may independently restore form fields or retain information according to your settings.

Choosing Copy places the prepared text on your device’s clipboard, subject to browser permission. Choosing Download creates a text file on your device. You control any subsequent use of the clipboard or file. Avoid using these features for sensitive information on a shared device.

Email correspondence

If you choose to send an email, we receive the address, name and content you provide, along with ordinary message metadata. We use this information to read, assess and respond to correspondence, consider editorial corrections and maintain appropriate records. Our usual legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the journal and responding to enquiries; legal obligations may provide a separate basis where applicable.

Do not send payment card details, passport copies, booking credentials or medical records. We do not need them for editorial correspondence. Email is handled through email service providers, and hosting or professional support providers may process information where necessary for their role. We do not sell correspondence or use it to build hotel guest profiles.

Retention and disclosure

We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, editorial record, dispute handling or applicable legal duties. Relevance, sensitivity and outstanding issues determine the period. Technical records should be retained only for necessary operational and security purposes. You may ask about retention relevant to your particular enquiry.

Information may be disclosed when legally required or necessary to establish or defend legal rights. Where a provider processes personal information outside the United Kingdom, applicable transfer requirements must be met, such as adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards. You may contact us for information relevant to your data.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to processing, or receive portable data. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. We may need proportionate information to verify a request and ordinarily respond within the applicable statutory period.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Please also give us the opportunity to understand and address your concern.

Storage choices and changes

See our Cookies notice for the distinction between browser storage, local drafting and any consent controls supplied with the live website. Material changes to this notice will be reflected on this page. No privacy statement can guarantee absolute security; share only what is necessary.
